Argyll guided is run by Chris Wolfe who would like to introduce you to Argyll.
During 13 years of running a small hotel on the island of Seil, two of the most enduring questions were “Where can we walk?” and “Where can we fish?”. It occurred to us then that it isn’t always obvious where to walk here in Scotland as we don’t have many signposts dedicated to that information, or even many official footpaths. And information on fishing opportunities seems to be even more elusive.
So, what we would like to offer you now is the opportunity to walk, wander or fish some of the less visited and quieter areas in Argyll: remote moorland, the quiet glens steeped in history, old and ruined shielings with stories buried in their stones, rivers and lochs which have seen civilizations come and go, hillsides where bloody battles were won and lost, and where streams whisper the secrets they have heard over thousands of years. And all of this with someone who has a quiet knowledge and understanding of the area, the history, the wildlife and flora.
Argyll Fishing is for those who would love to fish some of the more remote and quieter hill lochs as opposed to the organised fisheries. Perhaps the fish aren’t always very big, but they are wild, and great fun, and the surroundings couldn’t be more removed from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Your day may be accompanied by an orchestra of skylarks, the flypass of the occasional raptor, wild orchids and herbs, deer and maybe even an otter. Chris has more than 20 years fly fishing experience in this environment, and is happy and willing to share that with you and help you, if you like, with the more technical aspects.
