I always thought I could fish, but when I came to take my SGIAC (Scottish Game Angling Instructor ) I failed. It wasnt that I couldn't cast because I could - certainly caught my fair share of fish - but I wasn't doing it properly! I had taught myself over the years and with that came all the bad habits which prevented me moving on to the more complicated casts.

So I went back to basics and learnt how to roll cast properly and how to execute a better overhead cast. From there I can now work towards the more complicated casts that will improve my fishing and hopefully catch more fish.

I can offer casting tuition, but equally important I can teach you how to catch fish! I will help you to choose flies, how to read the water, how to move up to where the fish are and lots of little tips and hints that just make it more plesureable.

I Supply everything you will need for your lessons and I will explain about the equipment and help you decide what you might need.

I would recomend that you take at least one lesson off the water, as fishing can get in the way of learning!
