Fishing Skills weekend
This is a weekend course to give you a grounding in fly Fishing and is open to individuals, couples and small groups
This is a weekend course to give you a foundation in fly fishing and is aimed at those who would like to have a go, but don’t know where to start.
The weekend will give you a variety of fishing opportunities, and you will go away with the basic skills to enable you to take it further. The skills include what tackle to buy, were to go, how to cast, what flies to use, and, most importantly, how to catch fish!
We meet on Saturday morning and will spend that first morning looking at the tackle, safety and a basic cast. After a lunch we will spend a couple of hours at a commercial fishery fishing for stocked rainbow trout.
.
.
On Sunday we head for the hills to try some wild trout fishing and for most people, this is the highlight of the weekend. We will fish hill lochs and streams; beautiful and wild with wonderful views and wildlife. The trout you may catch here are rarely big but they fight well and the satisfaction is immense.

There is no guarantee that you will catch fish, but you will leave the weekend with enough knowledge to go fishing on your own and maybe start a lifetime’s passion
The course includes all necessary tackle, rods, flies, licences, teas, coffees and lunches on both days. It does not include accommodation.
You must come prepared for the weather, stout shoes/boots, waterproofs and possibly a hat.
Cost £150 per person
